Professor Alan Hedge,

Thank you so much for the compliment and for your input. I browsed around your site and am very impressed with the work and information you have written about as well as the time you put into all of it. It is a honor to get this comment from such a well known professor at Cornell University. Thanks again.

Adam,

To see if it's a driver issue, go to logitech's site and download the mouse utility driver for the V400 computer mouse. The one I use dosent jump at all, and the software made every button on it programmable to my liking. The zoom feature works really good and I have had no problems with this little mouse even for gaming.

The only other thing I could think of is they did make 2 versions of this mouse but the first version was pulled rather quickly for such problems like tracking issues. If the package it came in doesn't say "Optimized Tuned" on the sticker and test on the front... then you got the first version of the mouse and need to bring it back in exchange for the updated one which the stores should be selling originally. The second version they put out cleared up all the problems people had with the first one. Hope this clears this up for you.

Nice honest review. I like how you talk about the ergonomic aspects and are aware how serious it is.

I just got a V400 on sale and was wondering how to assign tasks to the toggle area on the left and right part of the wheel. Also, the wireless mouse jumps to left about an inch every once in a while on it's own and when i click it jumps. Could this be a driver problem or is the mouse defective?
