Microsoft Mobile 3000 Wireless Notebook Mouse

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Unfortunately the Microsoft Mobile 3000 Wireless Notebook Mouse is a little too basic and weak for my liking. To start using the wireless notebook mouse, you need only to insert a single AA battery and plug in the wireless receiver. No IntelliPoint software is included in the package (i have no idea what they were thinking when coming up with that choice) but you can download it from there web site which is very kind of them lol.

The body of the wireless laptop mouse is not bad looking but not very fancy either. It features a contoured design that makes it fairly comfortable to hold for short periods of time but after while my hand hurt which could just be me or the way the mouse was designed. It is made to work with left and right handed computer user’s. The left and right buttons are nearly full-size and are pretty much easy to click. The scrollwheel is a little small and only allows vertical scroll, unlike most wireless notebook mouses which use four-way scroll wheel.

The Microsoft Mobile 3000 wireless notebook mouse comes with a USB receiver that snaps into the bottom of the mouse, a feature we consider essential on notebook mice. It was nice of Microsoft to include a small USB receiver, fortunately this dongle is fairly powerful, and provided just about 3 feet of range when I tested it *(will vary depending on conditions and your notebook setup). Even with the wireless notebook mouse use range, I was impressed with the tracking performance… You won’t notice any lag or errors from the mobile mouse which has a 1,000dpi optical sensor rating.

The Microsoft Mobile 3000 Wireless Notebook Mouse offers basic mousing functionality at a pretty cheap price. Unfortunately, it’s a little too basic and weak for my everyday personal use and I prefer the mobile mouse 6000 series for my laptop notebook.

What Is A BlueTrack Technology Wireless Notebook Mouse?

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

In any bluetrack wireless notebook mouse, the sensor has been upgraded to a new technoo, the light and the component configuration have all been optimized for the best possible surface image for a variety of conditions. BlueTrack Technology provides the wireless notebook mouse and the computer with exceptionally accurate and detailed information for advanced tracking on almost any surface.

Bluetrack allows blue light which a sensor captures a high-contrast image of the surface. Basically the blue light beneficially interacts with fluorescent dyes within the surface to increase the amount of reflected light relative to an infrared laser beam. The physics is similar to the “blue light” used in crime-scene shows to examine surfaces.

All bluetrack computer mice works by emitting light that bounces back to a camera sensor. The sensor “sees” the surface and takes a picture – actually thousands of pictures per second. A custom CMOS ASIC analyzes the information in the photos to determine what’s changed from the previous image and sends that information to the computer. The computer responds to that information by moving the laptop mouse on more than 40 surfaces, including carpet, velvet, rattan mats, hardwood floors, finely polished wood surfaces, and lots more. BlueTrack Technology performed on almost every surface tested without any problems at all.

Targus AMW25US Optical Stow-N-Go Wireless Notebook Mouse

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

The Targus AMW25US Optical Stow-N-Go Wireless Notebook Mouse features a store and go USB dongle that goes onto the bottom of the wireless notebook mouse for added portability and convenience. The usb dongle also triggers an on/off switch to help save battery life when the wireless notebook mouse is not in use – Targus claims up to 6 months of battery life (i highly doubt that) but we will soon find out. The built in low power indicator light lets the user know when to change batteries (the wireless notebook mouse uses 2 ‘AA’ batteries).

The integrated tilt wheel has 4-way scrolling for easy navigation to scroll vertically/horizontally. The Targus AMW25US Optical Wireless Notebook Mouse mouse uses RF optical technology and allows you to switch the dpi resolution (1,600/1,200/800). Targus gives users even more control over your wireless notebook mouse, cursor speeds and I found it worked awesome with even the newest widescreen laptops. The Targus AMW25US Optical Stow-N-Go Wireless Notebook Mouse claims it’s design is small enough for travel yet big enough for comfortable desktop operation (trust me, you will not want to use this as a replacement desktop wireless notebook mouse).

That may be true with using it as your laptop mouse which I find ok but when used on my desktop, I had to go back to my normal mouse because of the smaller size of the wireless mouse… starts hurting your hand after awhile.
